International Astronomy Day is an opportunity for astronomy enthusiasts and professionals to share their knowledge and passion with the world!
Who can say that they're not honestly fascinated by the mysteries of outer space and astronomy? It's almost impossible to look up at the night sky and not be caught up in the wonder of the beauty and mystery of the universe.
This special day is also a way for everyone interested in space to learn more (BONUS, this special day happens twice a year, once in Autumn and again in the Spring)!
Dive a Little Deeper
The most important part of this special day is to look up and wonder!
You might like to:
Learn about (& practice) navigating by the stars!
Start exploring the phases of the moon or try out gardening by the phases of the moon.
Look at the significance of bodies in space throughout history (check out Greek & Roman mythology too).
Learn about constellations (in the Northern & Southern Hemispheres) & other astronomy terms (this might also involve using a telescope!).
Create models of space.
Watch videos or documentaries about space.
Wonder, ask questions, research and write stories about space.
