Geology...we wouldn't know how the Earth was formed without it and yet it is an underappreciated science. Geologists’ Day gives us the opportunity to learn about geologists and the important work they do to help further our understanding of how the world works & get inspired to support their important work or even become one!
Dive a Little Deeper
Geologists’ Day is all about learning the history of the earth, the geologists who studied the earth, and helping to inspire people out there to study geology. You might like to: Learn more about Geology. Digging in rocks, observing maps, and studying how they all came to be is what a geologist’s job is all about, so dig in! Read a biography of a famous geologist or connect with one! You might like to even hit up a local science teacher that loves geology to have a chat! Whip out that rock collection, do some experiments, or have a walk in nature in your area! Some ready-made fun: Get some ideas for a unit study from Layers of Learning.
